The NS Documentation Center collects and documents information on the city's history under National Socialism. It forms the basis for the memorial's research activities. Its holdings include correspondence, diaries, photographs, objects and other personal historical records. Secondary sources supplement the biographical reconstructions.
In addition, the NS Documentation Center maintains a specialist reference library with currently around 3,000 volumes on the Nazi era in Bonn and overarching issues relating to National Socialism. This is regularly supplemented with the latest research perspectives through new acquisitions.
The documentation and library are available to interested parties for their own research by appointment. Appropriate workstations are available on site.
