Bonn Memorial

Offer educational work

The memorial offers themed workshops, tours of the Bonn city area and guided tours of the permanent exhibition. A workshop lasts around 180 minutes, a guided tour usually 90 minutes. Seminars, lectures, readings and special exhibitions are also offered.

Appointments can also be booked outside the opening hours of the permanent exhibition.

The Bonn Memorial currently offers the following educational programs:

Guided tours of the permanent exhibition (60 to 90 minutes)

Tours of the city on the following topics:

  • "A Rhenish city under National Socialism" - The Nazi history of Bonn (90 minutes)
  • "But I still had to keep working ..." - Forced labor in Bad Godesberg (90 minutes)
  • "Aryanization" - Expropriation of Jewish property in Bonn (60 minutes)

Workshops in the memorial's seminar room or in schools on the following topics:

  • "A Rhineland city under National Socialism" - The Nazi history of Bonn (180 minutes)
  • "Rom heißt Mensch" - Persecution of the Sinti and Roma during the Nazi era - and prejudices to this day (180 minutes)
  • "Marie Kahle" - Civil courage and bravery (120 minutes - suitable for lower school classes and language beginners)
  • "To be or not to be" - Manfred Weil's escape through Europe under National Socialism (180 minutes - suitable for upper school classes and adults)
  • "Between the Mother's Cross and the Medal Hunt - Women under National Socialism" (180 minutes)

Talk:

  • Escape - it wasn't that easy. Talk with the daughter of Alisa and Manfred Weil about (surviving) life under National Socialism (from twelve years, 60 to 90 minutes)

In addition, the memorial provides support in the preparation of specialist work and the conception and implementation of project days as well as the preparation and follow-up of memorial site trips. We are happy to present our services to schools at specialist conferences.
