Bonn Memorial

Mémorial et Center de documentation sur le nazisme de Bonn

The permanent exhibition presents the deconstruction of society and the persecution of political opponents, the Jewish population, the Sinti and other inhabitants of Bonn and the region after the Nazis' accession to power in 1933.

Ouverture: Le samedi à partir de 13h à 18 heures, Le dimanche de 11h à 16h

As the first Nazi resisters, often political opponents, begin to organize, certain Jewish families move to foreign countries or leave Europe. For those who remain, the situation is becoming increasingly desperate.

The exhibition also describes the situation of patients in psychiatric hospitals, many of whom were systematically killed, the living conditions of the forcibly deported to Bonn and the prisoners of war under the Nazi regime.

The history of the Memorial began in 1984 with the foundation of the responsible association. A first temporary exhibition was installed in Bad Godesberg. Since 1996, the permanent exhibition has been located at Franziskanerstrasse 9, where it is regularly updated. Since January 1, 2021, the Mémorial has become municipal and the association responsible has been transformed into an association de soutien.

Entrée gratuite

Guided tours, hikes and workshops for groups of pupils and adults can also be organized outside the opening hours. The activities at school destinations are free of charge.
